This year was MUCH warmer than last year (despite going 10 days later in the month) and the girls really had a blast. While it has long been our favorite activity (thus the reason it is a priority), this year they blew us away. In previous years, there has always been an awesome corn maze (20-25 acres), a hayride and pumpkin patch, a few animals to pet, etc ... fun, thought consistently the same. This year they added a ton of stuff, all perfect for little ones! There were so many things that we really didn't get to spend much time on since we were only there an hour and a half - I truly think Elise and Avery would have been content to play there for HOURS!
They had the coolest swings ever (see below), a sand play area, climbing "mountains" and "tunnels" (made of dirt), play houses, a pirate ship playground, lots of animals to pet, pig races (those little things are so darn fast when they're still skinny!), barrel train rides, and more - all in addition to the aforementioned yearly staples and great fall food! There was even a "Sprouts Route" in the maze (that was not much of a "maze", but more of a "path" with alphabet signs as guides - perfect!)
Below are a few pictures, but there are several more in the Photo Album. We spent about 1 hour and 45 minutes there and - despite not getting to ride the hayride (which, as mentioned, the girls love this year) because of some group that felt entitled to join their friends at the front of the line, effectively filling the last wagon we could have caught before bedtime (don't get me started) - we had a really fabulous time... topped off with homemade cinnamon sugar donuts on our way out! :)
Of course, sweet Elise who conquered the mountains and tried to dive off of the pirate ship without any fear quickly decompensated a bit just as we were getting ready to leave, and spent the next 12 hours in our bedroom with breathing problems/treatments and little sleep (because mama and dada - who feel pretty competent with regards to pediatric health care - were considering a visit to the emergency room). I'm so glad she and Avery were both able to enjoy themselves so much this year, despite fighting a bit of illness! (And no, we did not take her that sick - she had a bit of a runny nose that escalated quickly!) :(
Check out the pictures!

I might have to check this out next year. It sounds like there is a lot to do!
It's so much fun, and we didn't even do any of the main attractions this year (hayride/pumpkin patch/corn maze!). It's $8 per person, but kids up to FIVE years old (!) get in free - so cool. My only disappointment is that it's only open on the weekends (Friday evening, even, not daytime Friday). I thought several times about a playdate there, but everyone is so busy on the weekends!
